On Friday evening I was delighted to attend the official opening of the first ever Brentwood Centre Ice Rink, where I cut the ribbon alongside Ann Coe the deputy Mayor for Brentwood.
It was an amazing opening, all down to Daniel Yardy who is a great supporter of Saint Francis Hospice , Anne Brown from Purple Cow communications as well as our very own community fundraising team.
There were collections and a raffle for the hospice and on 28th December there is to be a special night all for the hospice, so do come along.
We saw demonstrations from a children’s ice hockey team, Olympic skate offs, figure skating and ice dancing, as well as open skating for all including Santa.
There was hog roast, pancakes, mulled wine and lots to buy. Did you know that Frankie our hospice mascot is also a terrific skater, come and see him on the 28th December.
