Going for a Song!

Great News – we’ve found a Music Director!

Thank you so much for expressing an interest in joining the Hospice choir and I am pleased to let you know that we have found a Musical Director who has agreed to give his time to us voluntarily, by the name of John Morris who currently teaches the Can’t Sing Choir and the Sound Company at the Fairkytes Centre in Hornchurch.

John has previously been the music advisor to the London Borough of Havering, taught at Jury Falls School and is a member of the London Philharmonic Choir.

Following a meeting with John, we have agreed that rehearsals will take place on Wednesday’s however I would like to know from you, as soon as possible, whether you would prefer meeting at either 6.30-8.30pm or 7-9pm – we will go with the majority vote so please let Kathy Hardy know at your earliest convenience.

We are looking to hold our first rehearsal on Wednesday 18th April with a view to singing at our Birthday Service on Monday 23rd July.   Our rehearsals will be held in the Day Hospice or the Chapel until such time as we out grow it!

Please come along to the first rehearsal – there will be no auditions!  We’re considering calling ourselves Saint Francis Hospice and Friends so the choir can be opened up to include others but we need more men, so if you know of any men who would like to join please invite them!
