Department of Health Funding

Just in case you missed our recent press release by Peter Stremes:

Saint Francis Hospice was one of 176 hospices to get a share of the £60 million Department of Health funding announced on Wednesday (last week). The money is to improve care provision for more patients and relatives in the place of their choice.

The one-off grant will be spent on a range of improvements to our facilities, to make visiting and staying at the hospice a better experience for patients, their families and friends, and to enhance some of the specialist services we provide for patients and families.

The funding is separate from the money we have to raise to fund our day-today operations.

Pam Court, our Chief Executive, said:”We are delighted to have been awarded £115,628 to spend on improving our facilities. Demand for our services is increasing and this money will allow us to make changes so that we can better meet the needs of the patients and their families we support.”
