Saint Francis Hospice 29th anniversary

Last week Saint Francis Hospice celebrated its 29th anniversary with a special service at the St John the Evangelist Church, which is opposite the hospice in Havering-atte-Bower The service paid tribute to our co-founder  Joan Matthews who died in April.

I was joined by members of Joan’s family including Jill Nicholls, her husband Colin Nicholls, and Penny Ward afterwards for a simple ceremony that included a framed presentation of Joan’s Order of Mercy Medal presented to her at the London Guildhall in 2007.
